Prof. dr hab. Andrzej Sopoćko
Prof. Sopoćko is a specialist in finances and capital markets. He is a
lecturer at the Department of Management in University of Warsaw. He was a vice-president
of the Warsaw Stock Exchange Board until 2005. In 1994-1997 was a president of
the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. In 1998-2001 was working as
analyst in the Powszechny Bank Kredytowy and later economic adviser to The Chancellery
of The Prime Minister and vice-Minister of Finances till June 2003. He is
an author of several books and articles in economic studies, which were granted
with the prestigious awards, including from the Polish Academy of Science, Ministry
of National Education. Presently, to the most important considered to be a study
book "Market financial tools" (Rynkowe instrumenty finansowe), which
continues the previous works in the domain of "Stock Exchange of Financial
Assets" (Giełda Papierów Wartosciowych) and "Pochodne. The way to fortune".
He was a member of the editor group and presently of Scientific Board of the quarterly
magazine "Rynki Terminowe". In 2002-2005 was a Head of The Socio-Economic
Council affiliated to The Government Centre for Strategic Studies. He is a member
of the board in several organizations serving development of the capital markets.
