Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko
Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko -- a key architect of
Polish reforms -- is a renowned economist and a world expert on
transition and development policy. While Deputy Premier and Minister of
Finance (1994-97) he led Poland to the OECD. Holding the same positions
again in 2002-03 he played an important role in Poland's integration
with the European Union. In 1989 he was participating in the historical
Polish Round Table, which led to the first post-communist government in
East Central Europe. In 1989-91 he was the member of Economic Council
of the Government. A graduate and Ph.D. of Warsaw School of Economics
(SGH), he is currently Director of TIGER - Transformation, Integration
and Globalization Economic Research (www.tiger.edu.pl) and professor at
the Kozminski University in Warsaw (ALK). The United Nations, IMF and
the World Bank have sought Professor Kolodko expertise. He has accepted
invitations for visiting professorships at Yale, UCLA and the
University of Rochester, New York, as well as research fellowships and
lectures at academic institutions and organizations worldwide.
Professor Marta Postuła She graduated with an honours degree in economics at
the Private School of Business and Administration in Warsaw,
specialising in Organization and Management . Since 1999 she has worked
in the Ministry of Finance office, progressing through financial
advisor to the position of Director of the Department of Public Finance
Reform. The basic scope of work experience has been related to the
operations of the public finance system in Poland and the world, the
budgetary process and efficiency of public spending. In 2007, she
defended the thesis "Management of public finances in Poland in terms
of transformation and economic integration” at the School of Economics
in Warsaw In preparation for the hearing, literature studies were
supported by her personal professional experience. The aim of this
study was to analyse the effectiveness of the strategy of fiscal reform
in European Union and determine the conditions of the tax system to
support long-term socio-economic development. In 2013, she was awarded
the title of associate professor in economics in the discipline of
finance at the University of Economics in Krakow. In 2018/2019 she did
a one-year research internship at the University of Bournemouth She is
the head of the Department of Finance and Accounting at the Faculty of
Management at the University of Warsaw. In 2020, she obtained the title
of professor. She is the author and co-editor of several books in the
field of public finance and the author of more than 140 other
scientific publications. She has participated in numerous national and
international scientific conferences and seminars. (Publication list)
Prof. Jacek Tomkiewicz,
Ph. D. Professor Jacek Tomkiewicz is Research Director at TIGER (Transformation, Integration and
Globalization Economic Research) – research center which operates within
Kozminski University (KU) in His research interests are mainly focused on macroeconomics and
economic policy in emerging markets, he has published some of his works on this
issues.
Marcin Piatkowski Ph.D. Resident Scholar at TIGER,
Assistant Professor of Economics at Kozminski University and Senior
Economist at the World Bank in Warsaw. Former Chief Economist of PKO
BP, the largest bank in Poland (2008). Economist in the European
Department and Advisor to Executive Director at the International
Monetary Fund in Washington D.C (2004-08). Advisor to Poland's Deputy
Premier and Minister of Finance (2002-03). Ph.D. degree in Economics
from Kozminski University and M.A. in Finance and Banking from the
Warsaw School of Economics. Economic commentator and columnist in
Polish and international media, including Financial Times and the
Economist. Research interests: global economy, fiscal policy,

Małgorzata Runiewicz-Wardyn Ph.D. Graduate
of the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH), specialisation: International
Trade and Political Affairs. From year 2001 to 2004 she was a PhD
candidate at Research Team to Baltic Countries Economies, at Faculty of

Mgr Sergiej Druczin Assistant at TIGER Research Centre, lecturer at
Kozminski University. Graduate of management and economics at ALK. He
is experienced in macroeconomic and market analyses. He is also an
employee of the Polish Economic Institute, where he is a senior analyst
in the macroeconomics team, dealing with current analysis of the Polish
and global economies.
