November 27, 2016 – January 6, 2017 „Windows” in Window. A new Professor Kolodko’s foto exhibition entitled “The Windows”– this time 32 pictures taken in over 30 countries – one can see in Gallery Okno (Window) in the Lesznowola County Cultural Center in Stara Iwiczna, 6 Nowa Street. October Scientific Publishing House PWN has released a book "Inequality and Economic Growth. Allies or Enemies" written (in Polish) by Dr. Grzegorz M. Malinowski, assistant professor in TIGER. The author examines the essence, mechanisms and consequences of excessive inequality and suggests pragmatic ways of preventing the continuation of this disastrous trend. Polish Scientific Publishers PWN has published the book edited by Professor Małgorzata Runiewicz-Wardyn entitled „ Innovations and Emerging Technologies for the Prosperity and Quality of Life. The Case of Poland”. The book discusses, firstly, the role of emerging technologies and innovations in modernizing, improving economic prosperity and enhancing quality of life in Poland and the EU, and secondly, point to the major present and future challenges related to these technologies on national, regional and individual levels. October 28, 2016, 10:30 a.m.  October 9, 2016 Representing the Kozminski Marathon Club Professor G. W. Kolodko bravely run his already 47th distance of 26.2 miles. This time it was the 17. PKO Marathon in Poznan. It makes 2,000 kilometers of running marathons on all continents: from San Diego to St. Petersburg, from Tromso in the Arctic to Mutare in Zimbabwe, from Madrid to Rotorua in New Zealand. Keep going!
The TIGER Director, professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko, has been invited to speak at the Kyiv International Economic Forum on “Ukraine: On the Threshold of the Fourth Industrial Revolution”. The goal of the forum’s hosts is to bring together bright minds from business and public sectors and formulate an effective economic growth strategy for Ukraine.  September 2016

Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko has been invited, as an architect of Polish economic growth, to chair the panel on “Growth models and policies” at the special conference on Nicholas Kaldor’s legacy in the 21st century. The conferemce, called „Economic Growth and Social Equity”, is organized by the Department of Economic Policy of the Corvinus University in Budapest in cooperation with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. Nicholas Kaldor, Cambridge economist, died 30 years ago. He was born in Budapest, studied at the LSE, worked for the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, and advised the British labour government on taxation and economic policy. Yet one more important lecture in China by the Director of TIGER. This time Professor G. W. Kolodko delivers a keynote speech at the plenary session inaugurating the international conference on "One Belt One Road" devoted to the new Silk Road. The event takes place in the historic city of Xi'an, famous for its terracotta army.  September 11-24, 2016

At the Interdisciplinary Art Festival, City of Stars, Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko takes a part in the panel debate on the future of Europe after the Brexit. The discussion, about whether we are still in the Union, or rather in what is the Union of Republics, moderates Kamil Dabrowa.

Immediately after the Economic Forum in Krynica-Zdroj, Professor Kolodko attends the Running Festival, during which on Saturday, September 10th, at 7:00 p.m. he presents a public lecture called “Running Through the World”. world... You are welcome to visit the next, already the fifth
exhibition of Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko photographs. This time a
collection of 34 pictures, taken in over 30 countries, is shown at the
exhibition called “Windows”. The opening – attended by Mrs. Elzbieta
Dzikowska, renowned traveler, reporter and art critic – occured on
Thursday, January 21st, at 6:00 p.m., at the Kozminski University
(Building A, 2nd floor). The pictures presented at the four previous

Following the publication by Professor Andrzej K. Kozminski the book (in the Polish language) called “Wyobraźnia ekonomiczna” ("The Economic Imagination"), the TIGER and the Students Scientific Club “Little Tigers” invite for the joint seminar under the same title. The People’s Bank of China and International Monetary Fund organize the Fourth Joint Conference on “Strengthening the International Monetary System and International Experience in Resolving Debt Problems”. The conference focuses on the issues of the global monetary system and the international experience in resolving credit booms and debt problems. At the event, which occurs in Beijing, Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko presents a keynote speech on “Poland’s experience with SOE and related financial reforms”.

27 years ago the historic negotiations of Poland’s Round Table – leading to principal systemic changes, first in Poland, soon in other countries of East-Central Europe, later in Russia and other former Soviet republics – had been concluded. Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko – then the director of the Institute of Finance – took part in that event. This year event is devoted to the experience of 25 years of post-communist transformation in Russia, the former Soviet republics, and East Central European countries.
