At the ranking list of the reader's hits of the internet bookstore Merlin the
last book on "Wedrujacy swiat" ("World on the
Move") by Professor Kolodko
has been placed. Among the 50 bestsellers of the last month (the book
has sold just in October as many as 3,270 copies) it's been one out of
three works of social sciences and business books, which compete
bravely with popular books, novels and the literature for the youngest
generation. Yet all of them have been left beyond by the unmatched
leader entitled "I Can't Get Slimmer. Revelation French Diet for Losing
Weight". But Professor has managed it too!
December 2008
Professor Kolodko's
book "Wędrujący świat" ("World on the Move") drives continuously great
interest both in Poland and worldwide. It's confirmed again by the

Between April and October there had been as many as 23,231 visits from
51 countries. In October only the NAVIGATOR
was visited 6,099 times and the guest were from 32 countries. It's
worth to mention that in the last month the dozen or so tables, charts
and maps found there have been updated - as promised by the author -
and this dynamic statistical appendix, which - together with the blog www.wedrujacyswiat.pl/blog/
- is the core of NAVIGATOR now presents the most

partner within the coalition government with the Civic

Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko has
been invited by H.E. Lech Kaczynski, the President of Poland.
During the meeting Professor Kolodko
argued on the implications and perspectives of introduction of the
common European Union currency, the euro, in Poland. The TIGER Director
has convinced the President that in the long-run Polish economy and
society will gain a lot from this convergence. However, he has
emphasized that the convergence must happen at the proper exchange
rate, which will secure the competitiveness of Polish industries and
sustained economic growth. According to Professor Kolodko's,
the proper exchange rate should be close to 4 zloties per euro. He
believes that the convergence is still feasible in 2012, yet much more
important is to get there with the proper exchange rate and the date
should be coming out from solving this issue. After the meeting,
which's got a tremendous publicity, the Chancery have organized in the
Palace a press briefing with Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko,
which has been broadcasted live by major TV networks.

The newest work by Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko
"Wędrujący świat" ("World on the Move") has made into
the top of ranking list-the readers' hits of daily "Rzeczpospolita".
What's more, as for the 13 greatest bestsellers ("the most eagerly
bought economic books during last half a year", according to the paper
claim), Professor Kolodko
appears to be the one and only Polish author... At last something comes
out from Poland and is not just imported into the country! On this
occasion, Aleksandra Fandrejewska, the author of book review
published in the newspaper, says: "This is a tale of both science and
literature... extremely interesting reading... Grzegorz Kolodko has
successfully shown how complicated are the links between various
features and places and how seldom we do think about it."

There has been an interesting super-debate on the role of state in
contemporary economy. "How Much of the Government?" - this is the topic
of the discussion between two renowned scholars representing quite
different perspectives. Dr. David D. Friedman is a
professor of law at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit,
Catholic university in Santa Clara, California. According to Wikipedia, "In his 1973 book "The Machinery of Freedom"
Friedman developed a form of anarcho-capitalism where all goods and
services including law itself can be produced by the free market."

Friedman. Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko,
Director of TIGER, former (1994-97 and

development and presents a New Pragmatism, a social and economic policy
option alternative to both, populism and failing neoliberalism. The
