15.11.2004 Defended Ph.D. dissertation before Examination Committee of World Economy Faculty, Warsaw School of Economics. The title of dissertation: The Impact of foreign direct investments on export competitiveness of the Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia) in the European Union Single Market in 1992-2002.

Awards and achievements:

The Master's thesis, with the subject of: Labour migrations from the Baltic states (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia) to the EU states from 1990 to 1999, has taken the first place at the III Edition of the Competition for the best Master's/Doctor's Thesis of Poland related to the East and Central Europe.

2001-2003 doctoral scholarship granted by The Polish Ministry of Education.
