Almost a week in Moscow. The series of consultations and interviews, but mainly the 20-hours course on "Globalization - Transformation - Development" for the students of Moscow School of Economics at the Lomonosov University keeps Professor Kolodko busy in the Russian capital. It is worth to mention that recently two books by Professor Kolodko have been published by the MAGISTR Publishing House in Russian: "Mir v dvizhenii" and "Głobalizacija, transformacija, krizis - czto dalsze?" Dr. Malgorzata Runiewicz-Wardyn is participating in the post-doctoral short-term exchange project within the STRIKE (Science and Technology Research in a Knowledge-based Economy) initiative. Her project entitled "The role of universities in knowledge production and spillovers in the high-tech industries. The case of Flanders Region biotechnology industry" is run under the working group "Science, technology and knowledge creation". The project is supported by the EU RTD Framework Programme. The host person and institution of the project is Professor Michele Cincera from Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium.

It is appealing to spread progressive socio-economic thought and interdisciplinary knowledge everywhere, and answer the questions people ask. In Starachowice, at 11:30 a.m., the TIGER Director meets the readers in the Adolf Dygasinski Town Public Library (5, Kochanoski Street) and talks on "Whither the World, Whither Poland", and in the afternoon, at 4:30 p.m., in Radom he is hosted by the Association 'Czarni'. As usually at this time of the year, the Economic Forum takes place in Krynica-Zdroj, Poland. It's already 21st edition of such gathering, this time under the title "European Dilemmas: Partnership or Rivalry?" On the first day of meeting a debate, called "Poland, Europe, the World - After or Before the Crisis?", occurs. It's co-hosted by the Transformation, Integration, and Globalization Economic Research, TIGER, and the Deutsche Bank Polska SA. The panel, led by Professor Krzysztof Kalicki, the President of the Board of Deutsche Bank Polska SA, includes also Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko, the TIGER Director, Professor Daniel Hamilton, Director of the Center for Transatlantic Studies at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, John Hopkins University, Mr. Peter Tils, Executive Director of Deutsche Bank AG, and Professor Andrzej K. Kozminski, Rector of Kozminski University.

And again to Beijing. This time, together with Dr. Henry Kissinger, Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko presents a keynote speech on the global economy and aftermath of world economic crisis at the Second Global Think Tank Summit hosted by the China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE). The Summit consists of a main forum and four parallel sub-forums on June 26. The theme of the main forum is "Global Economic Governance: Common Responsibility". The four sub-forums focus on such themes as "Energy Security and Nuclear Power", "Industrial Relocation and Restructuring", "Capital Flow and Investment Environment", and "Global Economic Governance and the Role of Think Tank".

With mile steps the historical moment of Poland's presidency of the European Union is approaching. On this occasion Professor Grzegorz W. Kolodko has proposed "The Warsaw Initiative" - a project in which he's outlining an idea of systemic and long lasting technical assistance for developing countries, especially for the regional integration processes. The World Bank blog "Let's Talk Development" and the portal "Roubini Global Economics" publish "The Warsaw Initiative". On the eve of the beginning of Poland's UE presidency, Professor's Kolodko proposition is debated at the special conference organized by the Polish Economic Association, PTE.
